The maps shown on this site are made by the program Gephi. The maps show how different web-sites are related, which is measured by how much they link to each other. Big dots indicate that many other sites link to the mentioned site. If the sites are close to each other the relation between the sites are close.
The Gephi map below shows the nationality of the web-sites. The image shows the websites that are grouped in two clusters. On the top left is the US and British sites. The British sites see both US-sites and European-sites. The European sites are on the bottom right and is dominated by the French sites.
The French and the European sites are grouped in the low-right corner, meaning that these sites know about each other. The British sites are more closely connected to the US sites, but also see the European sites and thereby acting as a bridge between the two continents. The Canadian sites also act as a bridge between Europe and US, maybe due to the bi-language culture. (click here to reach an interactive version of the map)
